Karen Morrill

I grew up in a large family in the far north of Scotland, where everyone knows everyone and there are no hiding places. Life was lived outdoors in what felt like endless summers. Community wasn’t something we talked about - it was simply how things were. That early grounding has stayed with me.

I love animals and humans in equal measure - though I’ll admit the order of preference can occasionally shift.

I am at my happiest when creating. Writing, shaping ideas, building something from nothing - it allows me to disappear into the work. Time becomes irrelevant. I have been known to work long into the night if something doesn’t yet feel finished or true.
